The Green Caravan Park is a family-run caravan and camping site situated in South Shropshire, set in the beautiful Onny valley between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones Hills in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The park covers 15 acres of land and is a haven of peace and tranquillity.
This sheltered and level site has the small, shallow River East Onny running through. Children enjoy paddling and fishing in it; they also spend time in the play area where they can climb, walk over the wobbly bridge and have fun on the swings.
If you come camping at The Green Caravan Park in Shropshire, you will have various places to pitch your tent: Two small Dingles, The Plateau, The School Hut, The Play Area Field and a large five acre meadow, The Rally Field. Several of the camping pitches are adjacent to the river. We welcome both camping and caravanning on our electric hook-up pitches; there are forty four electric hook- ups in a separate field with fifteen riverside pitches and five hard standings for motor-homes. The Island now has 10 electric pitches, half of these are by the river and are designated for camping in tents or small camper vans.
We also have part of the Park set aside as a wild area that is unmanaged - nature at its best; a variety of both plant and animal life can be found in this totally unspoilt habitat. It is located at the end of the Rally Field and is crowned by a well established Oak Tree at the very top of the site.
The site allows well behaved dogs - we are a dog-friendly caravan and camping park, however dogs must be kept on a lead at all times [except in exercise area]. Poop scoops and dog bins are provided. There is a dog walk and an exercise area.
Facilities include a shower block [no central heating] that features hot showers [20p], flush toilets, hot water to all hand basins, hair dryers, electric shaver point, a washing machine, a tumble drier and washing-up sinks. A chemical disposal point is available. There is a shop [limited opening low season] selling basic groceries, milk, butter and free-range eggs; ice-cream, sweets and pop; a range of pocket-money toys; camping equipment, OS maps and Calor gas. A well-stocked village shop can be found just over the road.
