Etherley Farm is the home of J A Keen & Son. The Keen family have been farming at Etherley Farm since the late 1950’s and are now in their third generation of farming. We produce high quality free range poultry all year round, with lamb, hogget and mutton available seasonally. We specialise in Christmas poultry – turkey and goose and have been supplying the local area for over 30 years.
All our produce is grown, processed and prepared at the farm, which we supply to local farm shops, markets, pubs and butchers. Our produce can also be purchased directly from us at our newly converted Produce Shop.
Our farm has been run as part of an environmental scheme to encourage wildlife, flora and fauna for the last 15 years. Hedges have been reinstated and restored, wildflower seed is sown and new trees have been planted. Our orchard has been reinstated with local and traditional varieties. The produce from our orchard is used by Debbie’s Homemade Preserves, who makes the jams, chutneys and relishes sold at our shop. The orchard is also the home of our bees, therefore they have plenty of blossom and flowers which makes their honey so tasty.
In the last year we have made some changes to our campsite facilities. Converting a farm building into permanent toilets and showers and another building into a new Produce Shop. This project received funding from the Rural Surrey LEADER grant programme. LEADER is a grant programme funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, available to farmers, foresters, community enterprises and rural-based businesses. It aims to improve the economy and quality of life for people in Rural Surrey.
We have recently converted one of our farm building into permanent toilets and showers, We have also added hot water to our washing up sinks. Our newly converted Produce Shop sells a full range of our free range produce as well as camping essentials, including bread, milk and bacon.
The site is basic and simply two fields around our farm. We do not allocate pitches so you can choose your perfect spot, either tucking yourself away in a corner of a field or enjoy a hassle-free gathering with your family and friends. There are occasions when not all of the site is available, due to whole field bookings and Duke of Edinburgh bookings. However, this will be explained upon arrival when you check in. On these occasions and during busy summer weekends we try to keep our booking numbers at a level where you still have space around your tents for children (or adults) to play and enjoy the late evening sun with your friends and family.
